To do Wednesday: Movies in the Park

Posted on Wed, Jun 28, 2006 at 11:59 AM

Thanks to the River Market celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Movies in the Park series is an every-week thing now, and tonight's show (the movies are every Wednesday at Riverfest Amphitheatre) is the original "Star Wars" squel, or part 2, "The Empire Strikes Back."

Show time is dark, which right now is getting close to 9 p.m. (expect 8:30-ish for the screening), and the gates open at 6 p.m., allowing plenty of the time for the family to have some fun (bring a ball or Frisbee, as well as your own food and drinks if you want). Admission is free; there are drinks and food for sale as well, including ice cream. Just don't bring any glass items (for the food or drink, that is; for your eyes, they'll let glasses slide).

Here's the rest of the summer schedule: "Grease," July 5; "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," July 12; "Napoleon Dynamite," July 19; "The Nutty Professor," July 26; "Toy Story," Aug. 2; "Fletch," Aug. 9; "Sixteen Candles," Aug. 16.
