Looks like Mike Nail will replace Paul on the football games

That's the dependable scuttlebutt I'm hearing from the people around the Hogs athletic department. Mike Nail has been the Razorback basketball play-by-play man for going on two decades.

This move would not be permanent, but only for this season, with a national search made for the eventual permanent Voice of the Razorbacks. With less than a month before the season and dependable voice in Nail, it seems like the logical move.

Steve Sullivan, I'm told, is not wanting to be the play-by-play voice of the Razorbacks, though I haven't heard that from Sully himself, but from insiders at Channel 7. Chuck Barrett, another favored announcer of many Hog fans because of his play-by-play work in baseball, would remain in the booth in his regular ARSN job of hosting the pre-game and post-game shows. Keith Jackson is still aboard as color analyst at least for one more year, with his son Keith Jr. a senior starting defensive tackle.

In case you just emerged from living under a rock the past week, Voice of the Razorbacks Paul Eells died in a car wreck last Monday night and was buried on Friday (see earlier Little Rocking reports).
