To do Monday: Great guitar, great trumpet

It's rare that Monday in Little Rock offers this much talent at the clubs, but two shows are definitely worth checking out tonight: Guitar sensation Eric Johnson is at Juanita's in an 8 p.m. show ($17 tickets), while local trumpeter Rodney Block is worth checking out along with the Monday Jazz Project backing ensemble at the Afterthought ($5, 8 p.m.).

If you're looking for a suggest picking one of the other, Block will be on stage locally again soon, while Johnson only makes it through about twice a year. Either will be a great show, though. I've also got to feel that Juanita's is still shaking from the ear-splitting rock show headlined by Buckcherry last night. I've still got ringing in the right ear. Not good. Show was good, but this persistent ringing, not good.
