To do Wednesday: Movies in the Park has 'Sixteen Candles'

Posted on Wed, Aug 16, 2006 at 3:44 PM

It feels pretty good out there today, not much humidity as there's been. The heat wouldn't cause Movies in the Park to not screen "Sixteen Candles" with Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall and Long Duck Dong (or whatever his name is) tonight at Riverfest Amphitheatre.

The show is free, the park opens at 6 p.m., the film starts rolling at dark (about 8:15 now), and ice cream, drinks and the like are available for sale, or you can BYOB, or BYOParty or that kind of thing. How can you beat it? They'll probably let you BYOFan, if you have a long enough extension cord.

  • Cats and dogs

I've always been leery of people who dislike animals. To my wife and me, a house without dog hair in the corners and a cat perched on the windowsill is as barren as a highway rest stop. We're down to three dogs and two cats, the smallest menagerie we've had for years.
