Our celebrity sleuth made this E!-style sighting at the Razorbacks' basketball game with Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon at Alltel Arena: Ted Danson, the star of "Cheers" and the current show "Help Me Help You" on ABC, was at the game. The distinguishly gray Danson looks the part for being at a basketball game, our sleuth says: "Very tall." Danson was carrying on a conversation with another tall Hog fan while waiting in the back of the very long popcorn line on the northwest side of the arena concourse.

Of course, Danson is the husband of North Little Rock native and actress Mary Steenburgen. She wasn't seen at the game by our sleuth. And, no word as to how long Danson stayed, as the Hogs were blown out 71-56.

A double "of course." Texas Tech brought its own celebrity: The distinguisly white-haired Coach Bob Knight, who moved within one game of tying former North Carolina coach Dean Smith for the most wins in college basketball. Knight showed just what he's all about in directing his team over Stan Heath's Hogs. After an 18-0 run following the Hogs' opening three-pointer, Texas Tech rarely had to sweat, as the Hogs pulled only as close as eight points twice in the second half. Gerald Myers, the longtime Tech coach who got his friend Knight to take the job in Lubbock after Knight was booted from his Indiana seat, sat behind the Red Raider bench.

The game drew just shy of 14,000 fans. The empty sections were high in the end zone area, though there were a few scattered empties in the nicer, lower seats, perhaps purchased by skybox owners.
