Variety reports today that ABC’s Wednesday night debuts of comedy shows “The Knights of Prosperity” and “In Case of Emergency” fared poorly in the ratings.

The reason I even mention it, since probably few if any of you saw the shows either last night, is that throughout the Capital One Bowl broadcast Monday, all you saw between the live football action of Arkansas’s dominating defense and pathetic offense against Wisconsin were promos for this “wonderful, new shows,” as ABC touted them. All we could remember that was positive (at least to letches like us) was hot Kelly Hu starring in “In Case of Emergency,” and several football watchers making light of her name with “Who,” “Who’s that.” etc. Sounds like viewers across the nation will continue to say Who? What? concerning ABC’s comedy efforts.

Since half the country loves Notre Dame, maybe they were all watching Fox to see the Irish get trampled by LSU 41-14 last night.
