Not that anyone reading the Eat Arkansas blog is in danger of  converting to a vegan diet (that is: no meat, but also no eggs or dairy  products), but in this interesting article from the New York Times  — and in light of yet another recent case in which strict-Vegan parents  literally starved their infant to death on a soymilk- and  apple-juice-only diet — dietitian and author (and former vegan) Nina  Planck explains why babies need meat for good physical and mental  development.
