Help wanted -- quiet eats

Posted By on Fri, Jun 1, 2007 at 6:55 PM

A reader seeks help from Eat Arkansas readers:

I go out a lot and sometimes I want to go to a quiet place, but I have yet to find it in Little Rock or North Little Rock. I'm not looking for an empty restaurant because I like the interaction of a room that has a number of customers. I'm looking for a place that has both -- a comfortable number of people and a noise level that allows everyone at a four-top to interact without shouting.

There are ways to do this -- eliminate the piped-in background music and install sound-absorbing ceilings and furnishings. I've found such restaurants in San Francisco and New York, but I have yet to find one in Little Rock, where the restaurants actually seem to encourage inchoate noise rather than intimacy. Does such a place exist in Little Rock?
