Mini Kiss

Hot Springs embraces St. Patrick’s Day. At 4:30 p.m., the First Ever Fifth Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade travels 98 feet on Bridge St. Mike Rowe, of “Dirty Jobs,” is the grand marshal. Kiss tribute act Mini Kiss, clowns, Elvis impersonators, a pack of Irish wolfhounds, floats and other peculiarities help round out the marchers. Mini Kiss will give a free performance in the Broadway Entertainment District immediately following the parade.

Then: a pub crawl snakes through downtown Hot Springs.

Your best option: The closing night of Valley of the Vapors. Sissy Wish is spritely, big-beat, synth-pop from Norway. Ezra Furman and the Harpoons released one of last year’s best-reviewed folk pop albums. Think Violent Femmes-style mewing and Clem Snide-style lyrics of earnest irony. Th’ Legendary Shack*Shakers features one of the great front men in popular music, Colonel J.D. Wilkes. Expect him to be shirtless and convulsive and to sing with the microphone in his mouth. Th’ Shack*Shakers prominently lean on punkabilly, but their sound encompasses all of the traditional Southern genres. 8 p.m., Maxine’s. $5. 21 and over.
