LRFF: And the winner is.....

Speaking of apocalypse, a packed house crowded into the small viewing room at the Chamber of Commerce to see Michael Wilson and Natalie Zimmerman's "Silhouette City," then stayed on to work through their feelings about the film.  Philip Martin led a panel discussion concerning the apocalyptic Christian nationalism on display in various forms throughout the arresting film. If the filmmakers wanted to spark discussion, they got their wish in spades.

Of course, I dipped out early to make the awards ceremony, which of course was delayed another half hour. When it finally got dark enough to show clips from the winning films on a screen stretched across the amphitheater stage. Somehow, I managed to miss the two big winners in documentary and narrative film. I can't work up much enthusiasm for "The Promotion," but I'm dying to see "Behind Forgotten Eyes."

Here's a full list of the winners:

Narrative Feature:

"The Promotion"

Documentary Feature:

"Behind Forgotten Eyes"

The Charles B. Pierce Award for Arkansas Film:

"War Eagle, Arkansas"

Narrative Short:

"The Adventure"

Documentary Short:

"Pilgrimage"

I haven't even spoken to my friends. I ignored all the teary empty nonsense of postgame coverage. I didn't sign into Twitter for a week. Anyway, the game was on a loop in my head.

  • Where I stand on The Agreement

Nobody has any reason to be the least bit disappointed with the job Bobby Petrino has done with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Still, I have my reservations about the document that shall henceforth be known as The Agreement.
