And now for something new...

Lemon, “Little Rock’s premier creperie” in Hillcrest, is coming along nicely. The grand opening is planned for July 12th and it looks like it will be fantastic. This restaurant opening, in particular, is exciting because there aren’t any other real creperies in Central Arkansas. (If I’m wrong about this, please let me know.) I ran into the owners, Walt and Brett Todd, last night as they were working on their new project. They said that they where inspired to open Lemon by their trips to Europe, where there are creperies on every corner in some cities. Walt actually went to crepe school to learn all the ins and outs of the art. They will serve both sweet and savory varieties to suit just about any taste. Among some of the ingredients that will be offered are lump crab, chicken, spinach, Nutella and fruit. They will also serve a variety of freshly squeezed juices. And just to cover all the bases of a good creperie, Brett went to barista school! Does this mean we will have another place in Arkansas to get actual lattes? Not just hot milk that vaguely has some kind of a coffee flavor? Yippee!!
The new restaurant will seat 25 people in a bright and fun atmosphere. When you go, be sure to take a look at the very interesting floor. It was designed by Angelfish, a company based in Little Rock, which specializes in concrete faux finishing.

Can you tell that I am so unbelievably super-duper excited about this?!?
