Pressly benefit

Posted By on Wed, Nov 5, 2008 at 2:12 PM

Local promoter Butch Stone has organized a benefit in the memory of Anne Pressly. All proceeds will be donated according to the wishes of Pressly’s parents. The event, which the Times is co-sponsoring, begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in the grand ballroom of the Peabody Hotel. Local cover band CRISIS, blue-eyed soulman Big John Miller, rising talent Cara Martin and the gospel act Glory Land Mass Choir will headline.

Also performing are Randall Eller the Magician, Kassi Kimmons, Sherry Haywood, Kasi Lunsford, Barrett Baber and Heather Bennett. A number of local radio personalities, including Tom Wood, Jeff Allen, Heather and DC, will also be on hand. Tickets are $25 at the door and include two free drink tickets.

  • Cats and dogs

I've always been leery of people who dislike animals. To my wife and me, a house without dog hair in the corners and a cat perched on the windowsill is as barren as a highway rest stop. We're down to three dogs and two cats, the smallest menagerie we've had for years.
