Pazz and jopped

The Village Voice's Pazz and Jop poll came out today. You know, the list that comes out every year a month after everyone else's year-end wrap-ups that makes you say, "Still?"

Still, it's an aggregate of hundreds of critics across the country, so at least in theory, more representative than most.

Unsurprisingly, TV on the Radio tops the album poll, while M.I.A's "Paper Planes," which came out in 2007, leads the singles.

The lists are loooong, but on a quick scan through for Arkie-related folks, I spotted Al Green (#47), Ne-Yo (#51), Lucinda Williams (#52) and the Boondogs (#1174) on the album chart and Carll's "She Left Me for Jesus" (#32) on the singles.

Three Arkansans contributed to the judging (best I can tell), the Dem-Gaz's Ellis Widner and Werner Trieschmann and freelance critic Mikael Wood.
