Thursday: 'Basquiat,' Kevin Gordon, Boondogs

The Andy Warhol film festival, co-sponsored by the Arkansas Times, continues at Market Street with the biopic “Basquiat,” starring Jeffrey Wright, 7 p.m., $7.50.

Nashville by-way-of Shreveport singer/songwriter Kevin Gordon returns to White Water Tavern with a brand of literate swamp rock that'll have you dancing, meditatively. Little Rock's favorite pop melancholics, the Boondogs open, 9 p.m., $5.

Twangy rockers Sideshow Tragedy headline at Sticky Fingerz, 9 p.m., $5.

At On the Rocks weekly night of live, usually local, music, Kingsdown kicks out bright pop rock, and as usual, DJ Sleepy Genius handles the turntables, 10 p.m., $5.

As he will every Thursday, local sax man Gerald Johnson offers an evening of jazz at Off Center, 8 p.m., $5.

An as it usually does, the Ted Ludwig Trio starts at the Capital Bar, 5 p.m., free, before migrating to the Afterthought, 8:30 p.m., $5.
