THURSDAY 2/26

At Satellite Cafe's new free live music series, prolific and winning local singer/songwriter Isaac Alexander offers a solo set, 9 p.m., free.

At the Second Presbyterian Church, the Little Rock Wind Symphony debuts “Hands Across the Sea,” a performance that features selections from British, French and American composers, 7:30 p.m., $5-$10.

It's a night of demon-voiced metal with the Faceless, Misery Index and more at the Village, 7:30 p.m., $12 adv., $14 d.o.s.

Spirited local jam band Freeverse comes to On the Rocks, 9 p.m., $5.

At White Water, Jimmie Dale's son Colin Gilmore shares the bill with the Can Kickers, a band from New London, Conn., whose music, the band says, is as if “Minor Threat and the Ramones picked up banjoes and fiddles and joined a New Orleans-style second line,” 9 p.m., $5.

As usual, the Ted Ludwig Jazz Trio starts at the Capital Bar before moving to the Afterthought, 8:30 p.m., $5.

Ditto for live band karaoke, which Third Degree hosts at Juanita's, 9 p.m., $5.
