A tipster tells me he was in Flying Fish today eating alone at lunch. For shame! One of the 20th Century's greatest directors can't find anyone to eat with him? Or maybe he's one of those foodies who believes conversation spoils a good meal. (He apparently had a plate of shrimp and then a dozen oysters for dessert.)

Now let's all come together to speculate why he's in town.

I guess that he's either the super-secret headliner of the Lavender and Wyatt Systems conference on Behavioral Healthcare at the Peabody, or that he's here researching an epic film adaptation of the story of Le Petite Roche.
