Screaming Females.

FRIDAY 5/8

Throwback Memphis rocker John Paul Keith, together with his band the One Four Fives, continues to tour behind his fine debut LP, “Spills and Thrills.” At White Water, 10 p.m., $5.

From New Jersey, Screaming Females play wonderfully ear-splitting post-punk at the ACAC. They share the bill with local punks That Thing That Always Explodes and the Moving Front, who recently added Scott Cook (Kyoto Boom) to its ranks, 8:30 p.m., $5.

At Juanita's, the Mother's Day edition of Divas in the Rock local soul standout Nicky Parrish headlines, 10 p.m., $10.

Conway folk trio Happenstance comes to Little Rock for a house show at 2501 N. Pierce, 7:30 p.m., $10.

Vino's hosts a three-act bill of loveable, local miscreants with good names — Frown Pow'r, Bloodless Cooties and Androids of Ex Lovers, 8:30 p.m., $6. More Travs, too, 7:10 p.m., $6.

SATURDAY 5/9

Buzz-B-Q, benefiting a fallen firefighter fund, features some 60 local barbecuing teams and music from the likes of Ryan Couron and Jeff Coleman and the Feeders. It's at the Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock, 11 a.m., $5.

At Main and Broadway in downtown Argenta, the “Party at the T” returns before the Twisters (7:05, $11-$28) and the Travs (7:10 p.m., $6-$10) play ball. Freeverse provides the entertainment and downtown restaurants offer food and drink specials, 4:30 p.m., free.

The grown-folks-oriented Little Rock Music Party returns to Studio Joe with Marc Turner, Steve Struthers and Charlie Macom, 7:30 p.m., $8.
