The Collins Kids covering "High School Confidential."

In an effort to bring book-hating local teens into the fold, the Central Arkansas Library System is hosting a battle of the bands on Saturday, June 27 in the Cox Creative Center for kids ages 12-19.

The event begins at noon and is free and open to the public.

There are five performance slots available. Each act will play three original songs.

Local judges, including Ron Mc and Ed Johnson of Alice 107.7, will select the the top two acts and then the audience will choose between the two.

Submitting demoes is encouraged.

There's no entry fee. You can register at any branch of CALS. For more information, contact DJ Jackson at (501) 663-5457 or email djackson@cals.org.

For inspiration, check another awesome kiddie band video after the jump.
