Smilin' Over Local Foods.

Posted By on Tue, Jul 28, 2009 at 3:52 PM

Nao over at GreenAR by the Day shares the scoop on Smilin' Jacks in Fayetteville, a local eatery intent on promoting local food.  In addition to the Secret Salad that's now Nao's favorite -- and the Sonoma sandwich pictured above -- she's impressed by just how far the restaurant is going to promote local farmers.

What I love about Smiling Jack’s is that it really buys from local farmers. During our visit, I saw the owner come in with two boxes full of produce that he picked up from a local farmer. Unlike some restaurants, when Smiling Jack’s says it buys local, it really means it.
