Zii’s back! After several years hopping around the country, nearly, according to the rumor mill, landing on “I Love New York” and signing a major label deal, one of the strongest talents to emerge from the local hip-hop boom circa 2006 is back in Little Rock putting the finishing touches on a full-length slated for a fall release.
As local hip-hop fans remember, Zii (short for Ziibra) raps with a speed and dexterity that recalls Eminem, has a catchphrase (“Waca Waca Waca!”) and usually wilds out during his live show.
Your first chance to get reacquainted comes a week from today at Revolution, where he’s sharing a bill with Apples and Spades and St. Louis rappers Nite Owl.
Below, check out an advance track from “Zii Dimensional,” produced by Ferocious.
