Comics legend Art Spiegleman comes to Hendrix's Staples Auditorium tonight to offer the lecture “Comix 101: The Development of a Literary Comic Genre,” which he told the Dem-Gaz would be called "What the @#%* happened to Comics" if it was he that was doing the titling, 7:30 p.m., free.

At Juanita's, the Arkansas River Blues Society celebrates 25 years with performances by the Joe Pitts Band, Nick Charles and more, 8 p.m., $5.

From Memphis, the Angel Sluts play rowdy garage-punk. They share the bill with Your 33 Black Angels from New York, 10 p.m., donations, cheap beer.

The Top of the Rock Chorus offers a costumed tribute to Barbie's 50th anniversary at Wooly Auditorium at the School for the Blind, 7:30 p.m., free.
