Last night: State Champion

Posted By on Wed, Nov 10, 2010 at 2:35 PM

State Champion, a self-described "garage country" outfit from Kentucky, stopped in North Little Rock last night in between shows in Austin and Louisville. Apparently they tried to book a last-minute gig in town and couldn't so, for lack of a proper venue, they set up at my buddy's house and played a rollicking-great hour-long set in front of a crowd of about ten or so. It was one of the smallest, most intimate shows I've ever seen, so a special thanks to the band who gave it their all for a tiny crowd. These guys are definitely worth a listen. Note to Matt White: The next time the champs roll through town, they'd be a perfect fit at White Water Tavern.
