Wednesday: Caroling at the Capitol, Adam Faucett, Frown Pow'r

Posted By on Wed, Dec 22, 2010 at 6:05 AM

The Capitol Hotel opens their ornate lobby to the public for an evening of caroling from an in-house quartet which includes country-opera torchholder Bonnie Montgomery, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., free.

The Rep's production of "A Christmas Story" carries on with the curtains going up at 7 p.m.

Heavy angst rock fills Juanita's tonight when Dark From Day One, Iron Ton, Sychosys and Obsidian take the stage, 8 p.m., $10.

Adam Faucett brings his Tim Buckley by-way-of Flannery O'Connor brand of folk rock to Maxine's Pub in Hot Springs, 9 p.m., free.

Ferneau hosts "How The Grinch Gave Back Christmas," a holiday fundraiser with music by DJs Massiah and Silky Slim, 9 p.m., donations.

Bolly Open Mic Night returns to All-American Wings with special guests Rockst*r Jones and Kwestion on the mic, 9 p.m.

Even the Times staff is plugging in and rocking out tonight. Ad man Roland and the rest of the Dizzy 7 bring live soul and R&B to Dizzy's, 7 p.m. And at White Water Tavern, myself and the rest of the guys in Frown Pow'r bring it back to stage after a long, long absence. We're joined by our buddies in Detroit rock supergroup Sweet Eagle and the (killer) mod wizards of The Yipps, 10 p.m.
