Tuesday: Ben Nichols, Micah Schnabel, This Holy House

Posted By on Tue, Jan 11, 2011 at 12:53 PM

It's going to be an epic evening for alt-country fans. Lucero frontman Ben Nichols celebrates the vinyl release of "The Last Pale Light in the West," his "Blood Meridian"-inspired solo album, with a solo acoustic show at Arkansas CD & Record Exchange, 5 p.m. Later, Two Cow Garage's Micah Schnabel takes the solo route as well for the crowd at White Water Tavern, 10 p.m.

Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase semi-finalists This Holy House open for acclaimed (and foxy) Chilean indie rockers Intimate Stranger, 8 p.m., free.

Stickyz brings in power poppin' alt-rockers Page 9, femme-fronted Alabama teen rockers Evolett and all-girl Christian rockers from Pine Bluff, Ilia; 9 p.m., $5.

And don't forget: it's Karaoke Tuesday! It's everywhere! Warble the night away at Prost, Town Pump, Denton's Trotline (in Benton) and/or Cornerstone Pub & Grill. 8 p.m. all around. And remember—practice makes perfect.
