Tyrese Gibson, also known as Tyrese, will deliver Philander Smith College's final installment in their hugely successful "Bless the Mic" lecture series.

While best known for his music career, Gibson has acted in a number of action blockbusters, including the "Transformers" and "Fast and Furious" series, and will release a self-help book, "How to Get Out of Your Own Way," in April.

He speaks Friday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in the Central High School Auditorium.

Past "Pass the Mic" speakers include Georgetown professor and social critic Michael Eric Dyson, CNN contributors Leslie Sanchez and Dr. Steve Perry and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member Ne Ne Leakes.
