Mother Art by Tanya Hollifield

  • “Mother Art” by Tanya Hollifield

Tanya Hollifield’s “Studies of My Mother” pays tribute to her mother and grandmother in time for Mother’s Day at the Creative Space bookstore and gallery at 108 E. Fourth St. in Argenta. The show is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 6, and features work Hollifield says was inspired by her mother’s old art journals. Her note to me says she made sketches in her mother’s style and then embellished the work by, for instance, adding fabric pieces.
