Ben Nichols featured on "Here and Now"

Lucero frontman Ben Nichols was featured on the NPR program "Here and Now" today. The interview focused on the band's insane touring schedule that keeps them on the road for somewhere around 200 tour dates per year. Lucero will headline the Mudbugs and Music Festival in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend. It's a pretty good interview, although in the lead-in Robin Young referred to MTV's "$5 Cover" as one of the band's career highlights. I don't know if I'd go that far. Notable quote from Nichols:

Maybe if we would have played the game a little bit better, we'd be a little further down the road. We've definitely paid a price for our stubbornness, but we're happy where we're at. We're still in the game. Still playing hard.
