"Take Shelter" wins big at Cannes' Critics Week

Posted By on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 2:17 PM

Jeff Nichols is coming back to America with the two top prizes from Cannes Film Festival's 50th Critics' Week.

This year's jury, headed by South Korean director Lee Chang-Dong, awarded his latest film, "Take Shelter," the Grand Prize for best feature film and the SACD Prize for best screenwriting.

Consider this a huge international coup for the Little Rock-born director and the film, his second.

(I can't think of a better piece of news to break using Rock Candy's 5,000th blog post!)
