The Lusitania plays Maxines Thursday night.
  • The Lusitania plays Maxine's Thursday night.

The always adventurous Ear Fear hits up Downtown Music Hall along with E-Dubb, of A-State Hustlers, 8:30 p.m., $5.

Faril Simpson & OKRY pick up a bluegrass storm at Faulkner County Library at 7 p.m.

El Paso's The Lusitania torpedoes the conventional norms of rock 'n' roll with its unsinkable tunes, Maxine's at 8 p.m.

If you missed The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band up in Mountain View a few weeks back, fear not! The country rock veterans return to Arkansas with a performance at Oaklawn, 7 p.m., $20.

If you thought we'd left behind lupine-themed band names back in aught-seven, think again: The Virgin Wolves are at Revolution at 9 p.m., $5, or you could go see Wolves Where? at Super Happy Fun Land, also 9 p.m.

You've got to figure that a band from frozen-ass Winnipeg is just gonna be way gnarlier and tougher than a band from some sun-kissed tropical clime where people wear tank tops and flip-flops year-round.
