Big Orange will open next week

UPDATE: It's officially open today.

Nice slogan. In fact all the branding stuff and work-in-progress interior shots of Scott McGehee and John Beachboard's new restaurant look pretty slick on Big Orange's Facebook page. But that's to be expected. Amber Brewer, who's responsible for those pretty Soiree covers and is Beachboard's fiance, supervised all the design work, just like she did in ZaZa.

But the more salient news: Big Orange will open sometime next week — likely by mid-week — in the Promenade at Chenal shopping center. In an interview in May, McGehee said the restaurant would offer a mix of healthy and indulgent fare, with a number of burger options; a broad, ZaZa-style salad menu and a dozen gourmet milkshakes and floats. The restaurant will be open 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday, 10:30 p.m.-close Thursday to Saturday. The phone number is 821-1515.
