Bicyclers of all stripes, take note: Cyclocross is happening this weekend in Little Rock. What's cyclocross, you ask? This handy web comic just explained it to me. This video's a handy intro, too. But the basic gist is that it's a bike race over challenging terrain that sometimes compels you to carry your bike. Wackiness seems to be encouraged, too.

There are three races this weekend:

Friday
Bikes vs. Zombies Alleycat (where people dressed as zombies will apparently be obstacles)
8 p.m., MacArthur Park. $5

Saturday
Arkansas Super-Prestige Race
Events begin at 5:30 p.m., Kanis Park

Sunday
Reservoir Cross
Events begin at 10 a.m., Reservoir Park

Go here for many more details.

Also, Times favorite Jim Mize plays Vino's after the race on Saturday. It's free for racers; $5 for non-racers.
