UALR to screen Daisy Bates documentary

UALR will screen Daisy Bates: First Lady of Little Rock on Nov. 30.
  • UALR will screen "Daisy Bates: First Lady of Little Rock" on Nov. 30.

UALR will host the world premiere of "Daisy Bates: First Lady of Little Rock" on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. The screening is free, but call 569-3235 to RSVP.

After the film, there will be a panel discussion with the director, Sharon La Cruise.

The film examines the life of the Little Rock civil rights activist, writer and newspaper publisher who was a key figure in integrating Central High School in 1957.

PBS will air the film as part of its "Independent Lens" series in February.
