Dior ad features Gossip song

Posted By on Thu, Dec 8, 2011 at 1:10 PM

This was brought to my attention by the sharp-eyed Times photographer Brian Chilson. It's a Dior ad that features Charlize Theron getting all dudded up for some kind of glamorous fashion thingy and then struttin' it on the runway. All this is set to a thumping post-punk soul-diva soundtrack, courtesy of Gossip, whose singer is Beth Ditto, of Judsonia (White County). Ditto was featured on the cover of the Oct. 29, 2009 edition of the Times.

The song is "Heavy Cross," the second track from the band's most recent album, "Music for Men."

You've got to figure that a band from frozen-ass Winnipeg is just gonna be way gnarlier and tougher than a band from some sun-kissed tropical clime where people wear tank tops and flip-flops year-round.
