According to the Red Hot Chili Peppers website, the concert originally scheduled for March 16 at Verizon Arena has been postponed to Oct. 25.

A spokesman from Verizon said he couldn't yet confirm details, but that the venue would be making an announcement soon.

UPDATE:

From Verizon — "Red Hot Chili Peppers regret to announce that they must postpone the start of their upcoming U.S. tour due to multiple foot injuries sustained by Anthony Kiedis. Anthony recently underwent surgery to remove a crushed sesamoid bone and correct a detached flexor tendon in his foot and is expected to make a full recovery.

"Tickets for the postponed date will be honored at the rescheduled date. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, refunds are available at the original point of purchase."

So, anybody want to offer any wild, unfounded speculation on how ol' Kiedis squished his paw? Here at Times HQ, the leading contenders thus far are:

Tae Bo kickboxing mishap

Extreme Walking injury

Parkour training went bad wrong

Accidentally dropped a giant pile of money on it
