Beware Buffett tickets before Jan. 14

A note to the Parrot Heads out there: if somebody's trying to sell you a ticket to the upcoming Jimmy Buffett concert at Verizon Arena, well pardner, you might be about to get scammed.

From Verizon: "Any scalper site that says it has tickets before the on sale date of Jan. 14 at 10 am is lying. The only authorized sellers of tickets are our box office, by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000, the outlets listed on our web-site and on-line at Any place else is a scalping site
and the arena cannot verify the validity of those tickets.

"As we have done for 3 years, the prime seats will be paperless tickets that require you to show up with your credit card and ID. This helps prevent scalpers from NY, CA and other faraway locations from getting the good seats. If you should happen to see a scalper offering a paperless ticket by selling you a gift card, don’t. We don’t accept gift cards for paperless purchases. We want to get the tickets in the hands of the fans at face value and want you to enjoy this show and many more at Verizon Arena."

You've got to figure that a band from frozen-ass Winnipeg is just gonna be way gnarlier and tougher than a band from some sun-kissed tropical clime where people wear tank tops and flip-flops year-round.
