Mitch Mustain is misunderstood, new doc argues

Posted By on Fri, Jan 13, 2012 at 1:53 PM

Fayetteville-based filmmaker Matthew Wolfe hopes to have "The Identity Theft of Mitch Mustain," a documentary about the former Arkansas/USC quarterback, ready for the Little Rock Film Festival, according to the Fayetteville Flyer.

Not much to see in the teaser above other than, with no explanation, Mustain firing guns in the woods.

Wolfe told the Flyer he's hoping to humanize Mustain.

“If you read the anonymous posts online about him, you’d think he killed or raped somebody,” he said. “I just feel like I want to let him have a chance to respond to all the negative things, to have the final say on something, in his own voice,” Wolfe told us.

“He’s 24 years old, and in a lot of ways, his life is just beginning,” he said. “I think that’s the thing that’s so interesting.”
