Designers Choice Fashion Preview

Posted By on Mon, Mar 19, 2012 at 9:47 AM

On Saturday, April 7, at 7 p.m., the Metroplex Event Center will host the fifth annual Designers Choice Fashion Preview. It's the largest fashion show in the state, spotlighting jewelry and apparel by local talent, often of national regard. This year's designers include Korto Momolu, a Liberian native and Arkansas resident, whose African-influenced creations placed her as first runner up on the fifth season of Project Runway, as well as another Project Runway finalist, Jerell Scott (no Arkansas connection). Other featured designers, selected by a fan vote in January: Erica Warren, Kata Marie, Brandi Tate Phalon Montgomery, Snee Dismang, Krista Smith, Nicole Mcgehee, Leslie Pennel, Candace Locke and Ocie Collins.

Past shows have featured local models and an expo of beauty and fashion products. This year's proceeds support the Timmons Arts Foundation, with a core mission to restore public art and music education programs in the public school system.
