A Thursday open line

Posted By on Thu, Apr 5, 2012 at 4:06 PM

Anybody up for a Thursday open line? First a few notes:

* Blues singer/songwriter Keith Sykes is hosting the Hot Springs Weekend Songwriter Festival, June 1-2 at The Arlington Hotel. In addition to Sykes, Richard Leigh, Jed Zimmerman, Larry Joe Taylor, John Prine and Roger Cook will perform as well. At 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sykes will interview Prine, which should be interesting. It's $60 for a full pass, which includes all events. Here's the flier.

* We blogged the video for Kris Allen's new single "Vision of Love" yesterday. It's off his forthcoming album, "Thank You Camellia," which is out May 22. You can pre-order it right over here (and looky there: it's available on wax, as well. Right over yonder is the cover art.

* Contests? With prizes? Who doesn't love contests with prizes? Here's one where you could win free gas for a year from Kum & Go, and here's one where a lucky family will get to spend a day with Chuck Dovish, of AETN's "Exploring Arkansas," as he tapes an episode of the show.
