Beebe native Cody Belew was not one of the two top vote-getters on Team CeeLo on last night's episode of NBC's "The Voice." But his coach CeeLo Green decided Belew had what it took to make it into the top 12.
"I'm going to pick on the grounds of the most improved," Green said, "I've gotta go with Cody."
KARK reporter Brittney Johnson watched the episode with Belew's family, who erupted with joy when Green chose him for the top 12.
"To see your kid get a goal and hang onto it for that long and work as hard as he's worked to achieve it, that's what I'm proud of," said Belew's mother, Lisa Belew.
Johnson said Belew's parents have booked tickets to Los Angeles for Monday's elimination round, in which everyone in the top 12 will perform. The show airs at 7 p.m.
After the jump, you can watch a clip of Team CeeLo and Team Christina singing the Train hit "Drive By," or watch the full episode here.
