I enjoy my baked goods, maybe a little too much. But usually, my plowing through a plate of cookies does little more than add inches to my waistline. But now we’ve got an opportunity to eat cupcakes for a cause—and not just cupcakes, mind you, but a whole host of baked goods created by some of the most talented kitchens in central Arkansas.
May 4th marks the return of the Arkansas Food Blogger Bake Sale. The event will benefit the No Kid Hungry program, an organization dedicated to ending child hunger in America. In fact, the Arkansas bake sale is only one of many national bake sales happening that day, as cities across the country participate in this annual fundraiser. The Arkansas Food Blogger Bake Sale will be held in North Little Rock at 7th and Main, adjacent to the Argenta Farmers Market. The event runs from 9 am to 2 pm. All proceeds benefit No Kid Hungry.
Both professional bakeries and a host of local food bloggers will be teaming up to sell a smorgasbord of delectable baked goods. Professional donors include local favorites such as Blue Cake Company, Sweet Love, Eggshells, Gigi’s Cupcakes, and the Sugar Shack Sweets truck. A laundry list of local writers and bloggers will be donating their time and baked goods to the event—a few of the treats to be sold include chocolate brownies with Maldon sea salt, lavender cookies, spicy chocolate chile bacon cookies (yeah, you read that right), focaccia bread, cake pops, and caramels.
The Food Blogger Bake sale is brought to us by the Arkansas Women Bloggers and Arkansas Food Bloggers Network. If you’d like to simply donate funds to the cause (without even having to eat a single cupcake) you can do so at this link.
