Bloodshot Records country-rockers Deadstring Brothers play at Maxine's, with Mad Nomad and Swampbird, 8 p.m., $7.

Over at White Water Tavern, the boys in Mulehead will convene to corrupt the innocent audience with their ribald song-stories, 10 p.m.

The Top of the Rock Chorus Show: Hot August Night will take place at UALR's University Theatre, 7-9 p.m., $15 - $20.

Revolution hosts the Texaco Country Music Showdown, featuring Dry County, 8:30 p.m., $10.
