Dickey’s Barbecue Pit was founded 72 years ago in Texas. Now Wesley Thomas of Little Rock is bringing a Dickey's to Bryant, at 3213 Main St. off Interstate 30.

The first 50 customers to come to Dickey's when it opens at 11 a.m. Thursday will receive a Dickey's gift card worth $50. On Friday, Dickey's will serve pulled pork sandwiches for $2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and there will be a drawing for a $500 gift card to the restaurant. KSSN 96 FM will broadcast from the restaurant and will also offer prizes.

Thomas learned about Dickey's, a fast-casual chain now in 40 states, when he was at the University of North Texas getting a degree in hotel/restaurant management. The restaurant will smoke its meats on-site, and offer free meals to kids on Sundays.
