, the Washington political fixer who inspired the Olivia Pope character on "Scandal," appears at the M.L. Harris Auditorium at Philander Smith College, 7 p.m., free, as part of the school's "Bless the Mic" lecture series.

The Live at Laman series this month features singer/songwriter Ashley McBryde, Laman Library, 7 p.m., free.

The UALR Men's Trojans basketball team takes on South Alabama, Jack Stephens Center, UALR, 7 p.m., $5-$38.
