Ron Swanson
, the government-hating Parks official on  NBC's "Parks and Recreation" with a ravenous appetite for woodworking, brunettes and breakfast, is one of the best television characters of all time. When a waiter informed him that the #8 he ordered at a diner was in fact a party platter that served 12 people, Swanson calmly replied, "I know what I'm about son." When another character mentioned Julia Roberts, he responded "is that the toothy one from Mystic Pizza?" He's awesome. And he has the best mustache in sitcom history.

The man who plays Swanson, Nick Offerman (who is really, really, in to woodworking in real life too) will perform a comedy show at the University of Central Arkansas on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for UCA students or $15 (on sale now) for the general public (on sale beginning Friday). It's a likely sellout, so hustle if you want to go. For more information on buying tickets, see here

  • Cats and dogs

I've always been leery of people who dislike animals. To my wife and me, a house without dog hair in the corners and a cat perched on the windowsill is as barren as a highway rest stop. We're down to three dogs and two cats, the smallest menagerie we've had for years.
