Pritzker Architectural Prize executive director Martha Thorne will give a talk, “Starchitects, Prizes and the Changing Face of Architecture,” tomorrow (Jan. 28) at 6 p.m. at the Arkansas Arts Center. A 5:30 p.m. reception will precede her talk.

In her role as executive director, Thorne, who is also the associate dean for external relations of the IE School of Architecture in Madrid/Segovia, provides the jurors a context in which to make their decisions by supplying information and as facilitator in the deliberations. She has also consulted with public institutions on architecture selection and is the editor and author of "Skyscrapers: the New Millennium" and "The Pritzker Architecture Prize: The First Twenty Years."

Prior to her move to the Pritzker Prize in 2005, she was a curator in the Department of Architecture at the Art Institute of Chicago.

The event is presented by the Architecture and Design Network.
