“Repurposed Wonders: The Sculpture of Danny Campbell,” at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, features sculpture of painted and cut tire treads by the art professor at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. There will be a reception for the artist from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the museum, 501 W. Ninth St. The show runs through April 26.

Here's a little art history for Black History Month, which Mosaic Templars is celebrating: Campbell is the latest descendant in a line of fine African-American artists from Pine Bluff inspired by geometrical color. First, there was former UAPB instructor Tarrence Corbin, who died in 2009 after gaining national acclaim:

Corbin was succeeded by Kevin Cole, who is also known nationally:
