HALLELUJAH
6 p.m. Old State House Museum.

Also tonight: the Old State House Museum will screen "Hallelujah," the first sound film by King Vidor, the great Hollywood Golden Age director best known for films like "The Crowd," "The Fountainhead," and "War and Peace." Released in 1929, "Hallelujah" was one of the earliest major studio films to feature an all-black cast and much of it was filmed in Arkansas. Ben Fry, General Manager at KUAR and a film history lecturer at UALR, will introduce the film and a lead a post-screening discussion. Trailer after the jump.
