V.L. Cox, an abstract artist who does wonderful mixed-media Southern narrative work (or a mixed-media artist who does large, textured abstract work), has added another dimension, literally, to her "Images of the American South" series: She's created a diorama behind her signature screen doors.

The piece above, "Clark County Mercantile," features a family-related item, a Hardman Lumber Yard apron from Arkadelphia. You can see it starting Friday at Mugs Cafe, 515 Main St. in North Little Rock, which is hosting an Argenta ArtWalk reception from 5-8 p.m.
