New savory specials: sweet!

Savor the pancakes, at The Root
  • Savor the pancakes, at The Root

On Saturday, I dropped by ZaZa, 5600 Kavanaugh Blvd. for a gelato (the Italian yogurt, if you must know, since there was no pistachio to be had). I could have had a large for $1 off! That's ZaZa's deal for Savor the City, the August restaurant-boosting menu-special month.

Some other deals: For breakfast: The Root, 1500 S. Main St., is giving 20 percent off breakfast entrees Tue.-Fri. (Have you had the Root's buttermilk pancakes? This is a deal, and it runs 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.) For lunch: Hillcrest Artisan Meats, 2807 Kavanaugh Blvd., is offering 10 percent off any sandwich. And for dinners to go: $1 off. For the thirsty: Grab a domestic at Pizza Cafe tonight or Tuesday for $2 off to go with your pizza. And more sweets: Diners at Oceans at Arthur's, 27 Rahling Circle, get a free dessert with the purchase of two entrees. Remind your server!

That's just a bite off the 105-restaurant plate that the 5th annual Savor the City is offering. To see the latest specials go to the LRCVB's Savor site or Twitter page @LittleRockCVB.
