Renowned meth expert Dr. Donna Nelson, whose day job is as a chemistry professor at the University of Oklahoma and formerly a science adviser to the TV series "Breaking Bad," will give a talk in the UCA Student Center Ballroom Room 205 7 p.m. Friday. As show creator Vince Gilligan explained in an interview, "Dr. Donna Nelson from the University of Oklahoma approached us several seasons back and said, 'I really like this show, and if you ever need help with the chemistry, I'd love to lend a hand. She's been a wonderful advisor. We get help wherever we need it, whether it's chemistry, electrical engineering, or physics. We try to get everything correct.'" According to UCA, she'll discuss "checking scripts, providing dialogue, drawing chemical structures, and writing chemical equations." Sign up for a ticket online.

In other TV-related news, singer and "RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 4 winner Sharon Needles, who describes himself as a "stupid genius, reviled sweetheart, and PBR princess," will perform at Sway Saturday as part of their Gay Pride festivities. Needles released an album last year called "PG-13," which included well-titled single, "This Club Is A Haunted House."
